WE ARE FED UP!!!

It's official...WE ARE FAT!! I guess it's been happening for quite a while, but we just didn't want to pay any attention or really believe it was true. With school, childbirth, bumps along the road and a whole list of excuses, we have allowed ourselves to become obese people.
We are unhappy, unfit, and fed up with what we have done to our bodies. We have decided NO MORE! It is time to change something and drastically. Esther and I have decided to do a 90 day extreme fitness program called P90X. To those of you who do not know what this is, it is an extreme advanced system that is focused on keeping your body guessing while hitting you from all angle with more pain and exercises. We are scared but ready.
All we ask of each of you is support, encouragement and frequent posts to keep us accountable. We know we can do this and we know we can do it with your help.
We will begin by posting our beginning pictures and weights. Each month we will post another set of pictures as follow up to our progress and after each workout we will post how it went and keep track of our progress.
Thank you for your love and support and we hope to get more things like a nutrition plan as well as fun stuff in the future!

LETS GET IT ON!!

WE'RE BACK!!! WEEK 1...AGAIN!

Well, its been a bit since we have dedicated ourselves to torture and pain, however we did deal with finals, graduation and a move...man I got some good excuses! Needless to say, we are again rocking P90X, and I must say, day 1, Chest and Back, not bad! We did well. Esther and I found that old familiar burn in our muscles and our motivation is back as strong as ever. I must say I wish I could do pull-ups without the help of a chair, but I am not ashamed. One of the Dr.'s I work with, whom I will not mention...DR. B, cant do pull-ups either, and he is half my weight! Ah well, our form was good and we finished the work out! We are glad to be back and again would love all the support you could give! We will keep posting! LOVE YA'LL!!

Weights, weights and more weights.

So tonight Jon and I worked our arms. We did shoulder, biceps, triceps over and over again for a good 45 minutes. Last week we used the bands and found that they were difficult to maneuver and got in the way. So today we went to Walmart and found 40 pounds in weights for only $20.00. It was a killer deal. So tonight we used weights and man what a difference. My arms hurt so bad to even let the hang. But in 2 more months you will all be able to see my nice triceps that have been hidden under my fat for 5 years. I am feeling better and stronger. I can walk faster and work harder than I have been able to in years. Thanks Tony!!!

WE FINISHED IT!!!!

YAY!!!! This time we completed the WHOLE plyometric dvd. We worked hard and kept moving. Jon kept pushing me to keep going saying that my butt looked better already!!! It was hard but we both feel good and proud to say that we finished it!!

Now for our measurements. I am finding that the weight really isn't going anywhere right now so I am hoping that by posting our measurements we will see a difference there. Jon is neck 17.5, shoulders 52.75, chest 52.5, biceps 18, forearms 13.5, waist 48, stomach 53, thighs 31.5, and calves 18. Mine are neck 14.5, shoulders 52, chest 49.5, biceps 15.5, forearms 11.5, waist 44.5, stomach 57, thighs 32, and calves 18.

Thanks for helping us through as we strive to better our bodies.

Week 2

So we were a bit hesitant to get going this week and took an extra day, but we are back and going full force. Tonight we had chest and back, again, it felt great. Jon and I both worked harder than last week but feel better. The worst part is we have begun the ab ripper x for the first time. It is only 15 mins and one would think I can do 15 mins of ab workout. But after 3 c-sections I have found I can't even roll up with my legs straight without wetting my pants!! So we are hoping for better results on Thursdays ab ripper. I love you all and thanks for your support and love!!

Yoga!!!

So obviously I am not a Yoga person. Today I was so stoked to do yoga because I was going to get a break from straining my muscles, was I ever wrong. Extreme yoga is just that, EXTREME!! I do not enjoy yoga it is not relaxing and all I could think of was for Mr. Muscle (Tony Horton) to shut up and just let me do the dang pose! I now realize that I would rather do a butt kicking boot camp than Tony Horton's yoga!
Jon and I found that when you are in the twisted triangle upside down whoha pose that having children crawl through your legs laughing and one in the swing screaming and Mr. Muscle saying now breathe, and you can't because you find you are being suffocated by your breasts, you get more and more frustrated and angry and you find that you no longer want to continue this journey. The only thing that kept us going was you guys and knowing that we could not fail for the sake of our fabulous followers and cheering squad! So needless to say tonight EXTREMELY sucked and I am ready for tomorrows weights!!

Now that it is my turn to blog I wanted to address our eating issues. We both realize that we need to address these issues so that we can overcome our eating habits in order to continue to lose the weight and keep the weight off. I like to think that the loss of Thomas is what has caused me to over eat, but I and most of you know that it goes beyond that. Why does a person get fat? Why do we go turn to food to soothe our hurt feelings or our stress? I am going to find that out. I am going to face my eating issues and hopefully overcome them so that when this journey is done, it really isn't done it is a lifestyle change. Thanks for listening and we will talk with you all tomorrow. X BRING IT!!!

Day 3!!

Well Day 3!!! After waking up this morning and being unable to move...AT ALL...we almost threw in the towel...NOT! It was definitely a challenge to try and move our arms still from Day 1, let alone prepare ourselves for tonight!
We did Shoulders and Arms tonight. This consisted of about 5 different types of workouts for biceps, shoulders and triceps each! It was definitely the burn out workout. The thing about P90X that is awesome is that it is 1 hr of relentless exercise. Esther was an absolute champ and really did well, I am strongest in my upper body so for me this was a nice rest from Kangaroo training of last night. I did work hard and felt the burn along with a ton of sweat.
We were using resistance bands and though they definitely worked well and gave us a workout, the way they roll up the arm as you move is very annoying and can rip the hair out of your head and arm. We are going to work on funding some free weight dumb bells to give us that edge a bit more! All in all, it was an awesome 3rd day. I will take a few days off now and have Esther do some posting. We appreciate all your comment of encouragement! It is all of you that helps us push on and it is truly liberating to be accountable to everyone! Just kinda sucks showing everyone my fat pictures!
So I will sign off for a few days and turn it over to Ess. We love you all! Thanks again!

Day 1 and 2!!

We are starting our posts a bit late, but we actually started the program yesterday on the first of the month, but we will just back track a bit.

Our first exercise program was arms and back. This consisted of a whole slew of push-ups and pull-ups, to which I found myself, yes Jon, doing some girl ones! Esther did awesome! We each did about 5-8 reps of each push up set and I did 10 modified pull-ups for each pull-up exercise, modified using a chair and a foot to help me up! Esther did modified pull-ups by using resistance bands, which when used effectively WORK YOUR BUTT OUT!! We felt really good for our first day and we are ready to burn it up!

Day 2 brought us Plyometrics! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this ancient type of torture, it is basically kangaroo training! We spend 45 minutes lunging, jumping, squatting, and SWEATING with an occasional moment of light headedness! It was supposed to be 60 minutes, but after 45, our legs just didn't work. This is only day 2 of our regime and I am not discouraged, I am proud we went that far! Esther was a champ, and we both dug down deep to continue even when we could barely move! DAY 3 HERE WE COME!!
